I’m Dave, and I love hiking!
I started taking a keen interest in hiking when I was a teen. I’d occasionally go out in the woods/park alone or in the company of a loved one or friends.
With time, I realized the numerous benefits of hiking. You see, we live in a world that discourages us from interacting with nature. Picture how an average person’s day is like.
Wake up in the morning, go to work, and return at around 4 or 5 pm.
After a long day at work, you will lounge on the couch and binge-watch your favorite television shows till late at night. The routine will be the same the following day. People have no time to walk outside and interact with nature.
We’re so eager to go back to our apartments, lock ourselves in, and use the internet and/or watch for hours before we retire. Evidently, such a lifestyle isn’t healthy.
Whenever I went out to hike, even if it was just for an hour or two, I came back energized. It was amazing how it cheered me up when I was down or had had a nasty argument with a family member or colleague at work.
I started this site to share my experiences and tips as a hiker and to encourage those who haven’t taken up this hobby to try it out.
I also speak to fellow hikers who have been at it for years. You can share your experiences or suggestions in the comments section of my posts or contact me directly.
